At ICCS 2025, we were excited to offer a series of interactive skills workshops designed to equip participants with the tools to foster understanding, build trust, and navigate the complexities of that diverse world. These workshops reflected our shared commitment to building societies that were not only resilient but also empathetic, forward-looking, and united in diversity.
Participants explored critical topics such as:
Polarities, Not Polarisation: Introduction to “polarity thinking”, an approach to divisive issues that crafts “yes-and”, mutually collaborative responses, celebrating societal range and diversity instead of assuming that divisions between communities are inevitable and negative
Futures Skills: Learn how to apply foresight tools – especially the Futures Triangle – to systematically explore the drivers, constraints, and possible futures of social cohesion in their communities
Developing Civic Conversational Skills: Develop the ability to facilitate impactful conversations between individuals who may have diverse opinions or who may come from different backgrounds
Conflict Resolution and Mediation Fundamental Skills: Learn the fundamentals of conflict resolution and mediation including identifying interests and positions and facilitating win-win outcomes
Humanitarian Compass: Values and Actions in a Turbulent World: Introduction to the global humanitarian ecosystem, and understand how to act with compassion and solidarity in crises
